Frugal Tips for Everyone
We had a lovely thing happen here today at A Frugal Housewife. We received the “You Teach Me Something” Award from Forgetfulone. It is always a thrill when someone takes the time to let you know that they enjoy and learn from what you write. We appreciate the kind words very much.
It’s funny, this blog has been around for a few months now, and we’ve written about a lot of different topics. All of us who write here are making changes in our lives and trying new things as we explore ways to live a more frugal lifestyle. Right now, with the economy in a meltdown and uncertainty in a lot of areas being frugal is more important than ever.
Being frugal is important, but that doesn’t mean it has to be deadly serious. Frugality and fun are not mutually exclusive. We try to have a sense of humor about spending wisely. Our goal is to help you use your money in the most intelligent way possible, while also entertaining you. It appears, based on the lovely award that we received, that we’re accomplishing that goal.
We also want to remind everyone that A Frugal Housewife is about being frugal, not necessarily about being a housewife. Our tips will work for anyone, whether you’re single like me, married like Jody, or married with a child, like Blessed. Each of us who writes here faces the same challenges that many other people are facing. This blog is our way of sharing our the tips and tricks we’ve discovered with all of you.
Really, this blog isn’t just about saving money, it’s about building a better life. That’s why we start things like Kick the Habit. That’s why we have guest posters who are at different stages in their lives. Our goal is to give you information you can use whether you’re just starting out or nearing your golden years. As we improve our lives and our financial situations, we’ll share what we’ve learned with all of you. We’ll tell you what works for us, and what doesn’t, and hopefully we’ll save you from making some of the mistakes we’ve made.
