A Kitchen That Works For You: Kitchen Utensils
Now that my series on gift-giving is over I was wondering what to write about next and then Shannon over at Rocks In My Dryer said that this week is a themed edition of Works-For-Me-Wednesday and it’s all about organized kitchens. That was all the inspiration I needed.
There are a lot of things that I’m not - I’m not the perfect housekeeper, I’m not a follow-the-recipe kind of gal, I’ve been known to leave dirty dishes in my sink because my husband and I were taking the dogs out to run before it got dark and I’m certainly not the Queen of Organization - around here that title belongs to Jody or Kristine. But, I do like to cook and while I might not follow the instructions in the cookbook exactly as they are written but I do know how to have everything set up before I get started so that I don’t ruin a meal by not having the tool, spice or ingredient I need at a critical point in the preparation.
I’ll probably expand on this subject a little more over the next few weeks but for today I’m going to give you my number 1 secret for success instead of frustration in the kitchen. Are you ready….
A crock sitting right next to my range top that has all of my cooking utensils in it. It’s convenient, makes it easy to put those spoons and spatulas away and has been one of the things I’ve done in my kitchen to make meal preparation and baking more enjoyable. (Disclaimer: That isn’t my crock sitting in my kitchen, we’re having technical difficulties here today so I borrowed a picture from the internet…)
What works for you in your kitchen?

Yay! I do the crock for my utensils too! I picked an inexpensive stainless steel one up a couple years ago and it’s working out perfectly! So much better than when they were all in the drawer and I got stabbed with the utility fork all the time.
